While waiting in line today at the grocery store, the notion that January is just around the corner crossed my mind. I questioned whether or not I would make a resolution for the coming year, and, if so, would I fully commit to following through on that decision?
It seems that, each year, many people experience disappointment in failing to uphold their stated goals. I, too, of course, have shared such moments, though hope that the coming year may be different.
After some thought, I came to a conclusion: starting in 2018, I resolve to give up lettuce.
If ever a dog might be interested in a cup of coffee…

After a successful span of many hits over a nine-year period from 1972 through 1981, the band Steely Dan took a 12 year hiatus until reuniting in 1993 to begin touring. During this time and beyond, principal band members Donald Fagen and Walter Becker recorded solo albums…
I’ve been listening to the jazz fusion sounds of seventy-five year old pianist & electric keyboardist, Chick Corea, for several years, but only recently learned that he is the fourth-most-nominated artist (63 nominations) in the history of the Grammys! With temperatures warming to 68 degrees fahrenheit, the weather was perfect for a Sunday afternoon bike ride from Ann Arbor to Dexter, Michigan, and back again. With a full bottle of water, sunglasses and a camera, I was on the road and ready to begin the 22 mile trek!
My bike is a 56 cm Cadex-2 by Giant with a carbon fiber frame, 14 speeds and a recently replaced front wheel and tire. Very light, and fast. This 2016 season marks my fifth year biking and my fourth year riding this bike, originally purchased on craigslist.
Below is a map of my bike route (see red line). My starting and finishing point is the same, in Ann Arbor, shown here in the lower-right corner. The intersection of Huron River Drive & Mast Road, in Dexter (upper-left corner), is where I turn around to return.
Choose from a huge selection and stay warm this winter with a decorative throw blanket, available in my gallery at Society 6:
Our seriously soft throw blankets are available in three sizes and feature vividly colored artwork on one side. Made of 100% polyester and sherpa fleece, these might be the softest blankets on the planet, so get ready to cozy up. They can be machine washed separately with cold water on gentle cycle. Tumble dry on low heat setting. Do not iron or dry clean.
