This pluton monolith is known as Looking Glass Rock, seen here in black and white from a scenic overlook along the Blue Ridge Parkway in North Carolina. You can see it in your home on one of many different print types, by visiting my gallery at Fine Art America.

Standing 120-feet tall, the picturesque Mingo Falls is located on the Cherokee Indian Reservation, in the southern Appalachian Mountains of Cherokee, North Carolina.
It’s a short uphill hike of over 150 concrete steps, with the trail ending at a footbridge over the creek. The stairway is well constructed, except that all steps lean toward the creek at right; don’t fall in! Parking is limited, and restrooms – porta potties – are available at the trailhead.
