As I approached Richland Creek, I spotted this large Grey Heron standing attentive on a boulder, approximately 40-feet away, and used my zoom lens to get a closer shot. It was apparent, judging from water marks on the rock (see lower right corner) that this bird had been in and out of the water more than once. Though aware of my proximity, the Grey Herron remained focused, waiting and watching for an unsuspecting fish, until an opportunity presented itself – lunch!
