Prints available. Like many waterfalls dependent on lesser streams, Jack Rock Falls is no exception – a reduced volume of water flows during summer months. This recent morning photograph was taken as a few stray beams of sunshine brightened areas of falling water.
Mild temperatures remained following a substantial rainfall to the west, so I drove 45 minutes to the Obed Wild And Scenic River National Park and hiked to lower Jack Rock Falls. Due to the rain, everything was very slippery – soil, fallen leaves and rocks – requiring me to move slowly along the trail, and on steep areas of the mountain. Easy does it, they say. Fortunately, I didn’t fall and my photography is available on prints in the following shops:
This photograph was taken along Clear Creek, located on the Cumberland Plateau in the Obed Wild And Scenic River National Park, near Wartburg, Tennessee. It’s probably a great place for fishing, but I was here on this morning simply to enjoy the view. If interested, there are prints available. Thanks!

Located along Emory River in the Obed Wild And Scenic River National Park, near Wartburg, Tennessee, Nemo Rapids are an easy 1/4 mile hike from the parking area at Nemo Bridge, where several parking spaces are available.
Visitors may enjoy limited playground equipment and picnic tables, as well as basic restrooms. An informational placard also provides historical references & area map. To see Nemo Rapids, walk underneath Nemo Bridge and between several large rocks, to follow a sandy trail toward the water. There, the trail branches to the left and into the woods – this path leads to the rapids, further downstream.
