Prints available. Sunlight cleared the cloud-cover this morning on the Emory River, accelerating the dissipation of fog. Located in the Obed Wild And Scenic River National Park, in Wartburg, Tennessee.
This black and white landscape features the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina. I took this photograph at a scenic overlook along the Blue Ridge Parkway. Prints are available through Fine Art America.
Sun streamed through the trees into the gorge of Little Piney Creek, as I traversed the shallow waters on a morning hike at this remote location. Prints available.
Clear Creek runs through the Obed Wild And Scenic River National Park, near Wartburg, Tennessee. Accessible at various points, I parked at Barnett Bridge to enjoy a 1-mile out and back hike along the creek on a mostly flat sand-trail through the forest.
It’s a very peaceful setting without traffic or people. Just nature.

Perhaps twilight, not sunrise, better describes this early hour on the Huron River in Ann Arbor, Michigan. So early, in fact, that not a single rower was boating yet – this being a favorite stretch of the river for such exercise. Peaceful and calm, with faint reflections of clouds unbroken, though periodically a fish would surface to stir ripples into the water. I looked at my watch and realized that it was time to go, 6:05 a.m., so I filled my water bottle, grabbed my camera and hopped on my bike for a short three mile ride to the Huron Parkway. At 50 degrees fahrenheit, the path was quiet this morning, sparse with people exercising early to begin the day. Wishing I had dressed more warmly, I rode to the top of the bridge overlooking the Huron River and faced east to wait for the sun to rise above a tree covered hillside across the water…

This digital art is based on a photograph, stylized using Adobe Photoshop and Filter Forge. Guests can discover some great items available in my gallery at Pixels – prints, bags, yoga mats, etc..
