Savage Gulf State Natural Area

Located within the 15,590-acre South Cumberland State Park, the Savage Gulf State Natural Area has an abundance of beautiful scenery, such as featured here, not far from the Stone Door. Other hiking attractions include Lower Greeter Falls, Upper Greeter Falls, and Boardtree Falls, to name a few. It’s truly a great place to visit!

Roadside Attraction

Prints available. This small creek is located along the drive to Cades Cove, in the Smoky Mountains near Townsend, Tennessee. If you’d like to see it in person, then drive beyond the tunnel some distance until you spot a small parking area on the left, close to and before a stone bridge over the creek. If the temperatures are between 30-34 degrees, as per my visit, try and remember to bring a pair of gloves…D’oh!

Cane Creek Falls

Located on the Cumberland Plateau near Spencer, Tennessee, in the Fall Creek Falls State Park, this is Cane Creek Falls. Standing 85-feet tall with an expansive plunge pool, hikers may access the base of these falls via the “cable trail”. Prints available.

Morning Reflections

This photograph was taken along Clear Creek, located on the Cumberland Plateau in the Obed Wild And Scenic River National Park, near Wartburg, Tennessee. This is the Savage Gulf State Natural Area. Located near Beersheba Springs, Tennessee, in the South Cumberland State Park, hikers can explore nearly 16,000 acres of wilderness, with 50 miles of trails and several different waterfalls. Prints available.

Cane Creek Cascades
